What Will You Do in Maryland?

Maryland may be a relatively small state when you consider its size but it certainly is not limited when it comes to interesting things to do. As a matter of fact, it would be difficult to experience everything that the state has to offer, even if you spent a considerable amount of time doing so. To experience the most of what the state has to offer, you can focus on some of the better attractions. Here are a few for your consideration.

Swallow Falls State Park – The state of Maryland is an absolute wonderland as far as nature is concerned. Regardless of whether you are talking about Eastern or Western Maryland, you will have plenty to do what it comes to the great outdoors. In Western Maryland, however, you have Swallow Falls State Park, and you should plan on spending a few days there. You can check out the beautiful waterfall, the hemlock trees that are hundreds of years old and perhaps even take in the rapids.

Chesapeake and Ohio Canal – The waterway in this area was an important part of Maryland because it carried coal, lumber and various crops to market. Although the waterway is no longer used for that purpose, it does still have a trail that is perfect for taking a hike or riding your bicycle. You can even try a boat ride down the old canal.

Ocean City Boardwalk – A trip to Maryland would be complete unless you were to head east and take in the sights of the Atlantic Ocean from the Ocean City Boardwalk. You can take in the sights and the sounds, enjoy some salt water taffy and perhaps ride on some of the amusement rides. Check out some of the other features in the nearby area, including the following.

Assateague Island – It may not be far away from Ocean City, but it feels like you are far away from everything when you are visiting. The beautiful beaches and lovely nature walks are only part of what you will experience, as there are wild horses on the island as well. They roam free along the seashore and in the wilderness and are amazing to see.

These are just some of the many options available when you visit Maryland, but they certainly are worthy of your attention. Plan your trip carefully so that you can get the most out of it.
